Two locomotives and ten coaches have been added to the Kaduna dry port and inaugurated by the President of Nigeria. According to the Nigeria shippers council, this port has a handling capacity of 29K tons per annum. This will see a further decongestion of the Lagos port which is a major course for concern to logistics times in Nigeria.

While this inland port will help increase intermodal transport, the usual challenges in Africa for inland transport still apply given the distance from Lagos or even Abuja.

In any event, this is a welcomed news for those trading with and in Nigeria.
